Sauteed Okra

Sauteed Okra- Printable Version

Ingredients:

2 cups okra (sliced)
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:

  1. Heat the olive oil on high in a skillet.
  2. Add seasoned okra to the skillet once it is hot.
  3. Stir until lightly browned on all sides and tender to the touch.
  4. Serve hot.

Notes:

Okra is one of my most favorite veggies, and it is SO easy to grow! Okra was the last vegetable left at our house when we purchased it last November. I quickly did a little research and saved the seeds to plant this year. The okra has thrived! I love going out in the garden each day to harvest more okra!

I sometimes saute the okra whole. You can eat the entire okra! However, I have recently been slicing my okra because our homegrown okra isn’t nearly as slimy as the kind I buy at the store.

This okra recipe is a great side to so many dishes! We normally eat it alongside steaks or burgers.
